We all know that DevTeam has dumbed the iPhone 4S BaseBand and working hard to figure out a way for the software unlock. Before iOS hackers release an update to ultrasn0w, we have a hardware method for you all. TPSIM is a sim interposer which would allow you to use any international carrier network on your iPhone without the need of a JailBreak.
The process is quite similar to Gevey Sim which people often used to unlock their iPhone 4. All you have to do is to insert the sim interposer into your iPhone 4S or iPhone 4, a black screen would appear where you need to choose the right option and within minutes, you would be able to see the network on the status bar. For now, certain baseband are supported and the method is quite efficient.
If we simply read the description of TPSIM, you would realize that it doesn’t even void warranty of your iPhone 4S/iPhone 4. The supported BaseBand for iPhone 4S are 1.0.11, 1.0.13 and 1.0.14. For iPhone 4, except 4.11.08, all other BaseBands such as 1.59.00, 2.10.04, 3.01.01 and 4.10.01 are supported. Unlike Gevey Sim, you don’t need to dial 112 for the unlock process to proceed further.
Every functionality including 3G, MMS, 2G & FaceTime would work after the unlock. The custom sim tray has a premium build which wouldn’t affect the appearance of your iPhone. Every network in the world would work once the unlock is performed using TPSIM. Also, it uses F981 chip which is being implemented for the high performance, that is, low ultra-low voltage operation.
We are still not sure if this TPSIM is authentic or not. However, if we look at the video demonstration, the person has been successful in unlocking the iPhone 4S. It is developed by ChinaSnow and the sim interposer is available for pre-order at a price tag of $84.95. I think one should wait for a while before someone confirms the credibility.
